Imagine our excitement to see their rehearsal dinner

Loving how the bride played up the red details for this event!
We are total suckers for old red trucks.
Congrats to Lauren + Jack and wishing them much happiness!
We're off to celebrate as well.

 We loved working on this wedding last summer for Lauren + Jack.
Married by the river in Aspen on a classically Colorado July afternoon.
The details were perfect and the entire affair was unique,
yet authentically true to being an Aspen wedding.

We love follow-up from our clients. And we especially love photos from their events that show our custom designed wedding invitations, party invites and paper goods in action. This one is from a bride and groom for whom we designed a custom BBQ invitation. The colors are still on trend a year later - a bold green and navy blue with neutrals. How inviting.

In Review: EY Out and About

The past couple weeks have been busy for anyone who works in the world of weddings. Summer wedding season has wrapped up. Fall wedding season is in full swing. And Winter weddings are just around the corner. Here are a few peeks of work by Express Yourself from around the wedding web. We are so blessed to work with so many great brides, grooms, families and vendors! {bliss}

First up, a Rustic Bridal Shower shoot at the Monastery in Snowmass with Shannon Gray behind the lens. Burlap played a roll in this fantastic, early Fall shoot.
We created invitations that were printed on burlap {yes, burlap!}, as well as the personalized burlap drink name tags. And the cocktail napkins provided just enough cowboy humor for these ladies.
 There were also a few fun props and signs for the bride and her ladies.
Look in the pictures for Amy {yes, our Amy of Express Yourself!}. And you might notice another friendly face in there - Lindsey - who works with us!
We may work hard, but we can still have fun! These are just some of our {many} favorite images, but the full session can be seen on Shannon's site here.

Next up, we had the opportunity to create some fun props for Virginia of Bluebird Productions & her fiance Jeff for an engagement photo session. Love the V&J banner! Robin Proctor Photography took some great photos and captured fantastic Aspen and outdoor images during the session. You can view more of the photos here on COUTUREcolorado.

{happy day!}

We are so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful event. Looking forward to the coming {planning} months!

Real Party: Tea Time for Toddlers

This weeks party feature isn't what you would expect. But then again, two year olds have a mind of their own. Here is a late night tea party for one little girl, with the expectation that when her sister woke up in the morning, they would share a cup together. She set it up and demanded the party be left exactly as is until the morning. Here it is...

We're pretty sure we are going to need to throw an official tea party soon, with little friends running to and fro in dresses and hats and so. Here are some invitation ideas that would work well.

Alternatives to the Royal Wedding Invitation

photo via luxuo.com

So...most of us in the stationery world were not exactly excited once we caught a glimpse of the royal wedding invitation. While we certainly can appreciate the story behind the choice of typeface, we just don't love the wording, layout and overall feel of the piece. An invite that says, "...commanded" - really?! We are sure there is protocol and history guiding the design of the royal mailing. But, to get us beyond the stodgy and almost cold impression from this invitation, here are some alternative ideas presented by some of our favorite stationers from near and far.

Now, isn't that more like it?!

The Countdown is On!

It's "Royal Wedding Week" - the countdown to Friday and the BIG wedding is officially on. Today we are sharing some of our classic, traditional and certainly more formal invitation options. Here's a peek...

Bride Pride

We have worked with a lot of brides. And they are all unique, creative, excited and specific about their wedding. But we have really only worked with one bride that also happens to be one of the most accomplished snowboarders in the entire world. The lovely and delightful Gretchen Bleiler. Working on her entire wedding suite, we were excited to have her wedding program featured in the January 2010 BRIDES magazine, as featured above. And this amazing shot below? We discovered this pic of Gretchen and her wedding invitation by Express Yourself on her Official Facebook Fan Page. Love it!

Vegas for the Ladies

As we have said before, Vegas is not just for the men. Here is another great, custom invitation for a ladies bachelorette weekend in Vegas!
