Real Wedding: Hitch A Ride

This past weekend, we helped set up a ranch-worthy ride
for guests to travel from the ceremony to the reception.
Burlap, Wheat, Sunflowers, Hay Bales, Saddles
and a sign to announce it all. So perfect together.
Just Hitched. Indeed.

Behind the Scenes: Sneak Peek

One word:
GORGEOUS!

{Yep, that's my baby sis Amy.
And this post is from one very proud big sister}

The Art of Penmanship

Are we soon to lose the art of penmanship? That is the question that CBS News tackles in this post here. An interesting look into how penmanship has changed as we have evolved from handwriting to typewriters to computers and all things digital. As a parent, I find this especially interesting. Drop Us A Note

Cover: ”April 14, 1962,” by Charles E Martin

We have always loved the mail, especially as children living so far from family (and what felt like friends at times). The mail would come and with it, letters from afar, pictures, magazines and event gifts on occasion. It is only natural that we went into the stationery business, as that love has not strayed - not even to the quick ability to text, email, tweet or facebook someone (yes, we just used "facebook" as a verb). The New Yorker has more than a dozen covers dedicated to the U.S. Postal system. From mailman as Cupid to Santa to general lifeline, personal or otherwise. With all the talk about cutbacks in the USPS, check out the gallery of images and the September 19 issue cover here at The New Yorker online. Weigh in, tell us your opinion. Or better yet, drop us a note! (PO Box 4436, Basalt, CO 81621)

In Review: EY Out and About

The past couple weeks have been busy for anyone who works in the world of weddings. Summer wedding season has wrapped up. Fall wedding season is in full swing. And Winter weddings are just around the corner. Here are a few peeks of work by Express Yourself from around the wedding web. We are so blessed to work with so many great brides, grooms, families and vendors! {bliss}

First up, a Rustic Bridal Shower shoot at the Monastery in Snowmass with Shannon Gray behind the lens. Burlap played a roll in this fantastic, early Fall shoot.
We created invitations that were printed on burlap {yes, burlap!}, as well as the personalized burlap drink name tags. And the cocktail napkins provided just enough cowboy humor for these ladies.
 There were also a few fun props and signs for the bride and her ladies.
Look in the pictures for Amy {yes, our Amy of Express Yourself!}. And you might notice another friendly face in there - Lindsey - who works with us!
We may work hard, but we can still have fun! These are just some of our {many} favorite images, but the full session can be seen on Shannon's site here.

Next up, we had the opportunity to create some fun props for Virginia of Bluebird Productions & her fiance Jeff for an engagement photo session. Love the V&J banner! Robin Proctor Photography took some great photos and captured fantastic Aspen and outdoor images during the session. You can view more of the photos here on COUTUREcolorado.

{happy day!}

Treasury: NameHere

We always love being included in treasury lists on etsy.
The nature of being able to order personalized, custom products
is part of the reason we really love what we do.
One of our custom items, morse code stationery
fits right in with this great collection of etsy goods.
